The tour for me was a fantastic opportunity to experience Vietnamese life through not only its culinary delights but also its varied landscape.
Vietnam is a country of extremes, from the hussle and bussle on the big cities of Saigon and Hanoi with its many millions of scooters tooting all the time, to the peaceful waters of the Perfume River and sheer beauty of mystical Halong Bay, from the fishing villages to the rice fields.
The vibrancy of Vietnam life was captured in so many aspects of our trip such as the night markets, the quaint streets of Hoi An with all its pretty lanterns at night, the life of the fisherman in his Sampan, the cyclo ride and not to mention the food, fresh, spicy, aramotic and so deliciously tasty and their signature iced coffee with condensed milk.
There were sobering reminders of war times where the Vietnamese people have shown resilience and resourcefulness.
I thought the tour had the perfect mix of sightseeing, history, hands on events to make it such an interesting, informative and fun 11 days.
I have come away with a much greater appreciation and respect for the Vietnamese way of life.
Annette, thank you for all your tireless work in making this a trip of a lifetime.
Yvonne
